Homecoming, also known as the best night-ever-of-all-time, was a super fun night where Aidan and Izzy went out with our friends for dinner before and a sweet treat afterwards. More importantly, it was the night where Izzy finally snapped the one-wish willow and made Aidan fall in love with her :).
On November 1st, 2025, Aidan and Izzy got some pretty mid food at rice bowl before having a nice claydate at a local Starbucks. Absolutely benounced to her, they then went to the riverwalk where Aidan revealed his huge flower bouqet, adorably made (in Spanish) sign, and randomly assorted candy. Fortunately for Aidan! Izzy said yes, and we have been dating since.
After being invited as a couple (score!) and conveniently matching to Gabby's birthday party, Aidan and Izzy had a great time where they both got to hang out as a couple in their friend group. After staying till the end, Aidan drove her home. Before the drop off, we had a romantic moment where Izzy said "I love you" for the first time, and Aidan did the same.
After nervously agreeing to take a trip to St. Augustine with Izzy and her parents, we got to spend nearly an entire day together. From seeing the Fort and Lights to eating tacos and ice cream, we had a day filled with "I love you"'s, small kisses, and only a little bit of motion sickness.
Being invited (again as a couple) to Thomas's moms wedding, we had another awesome night filled with bad dancing, awesome food, and connection between Thomas's (now-ex) girlfriend and my own. Sandwhiched by McDonald's and some awesome drives there and back, Thomas's mom's wedding was certainly a core memory.
After Aidan (evil mf) missed Izzy's senior prom to attend a stupid academic team competition and free universal trip, I took Izzy and our friend Miranda to take pictures as a replacement. Plauged by my shitty haircut and blessed by Izzy's usual stunning beauty, I was thouroughly smitten with my gorgeous girlfriend and overjoyed to larp her between my lock-ins for schoolwork.
After Aidan's idiocy lead us to losing our previously planned aquarium date, we were finally able to make up for it with a school-funded trip. After a nice pondering of sea animals, we then went to blaze for a mom-funded pizza meal and listened to Skye yap for a while. After almost getting cut short by Izzy's college pitch to bums, we got to take a walk around main street, after which we were once again urgently cut off by Izzy's mom who mandated she talk to said bum.
After rushing to Izzy's neighborhood from my TSA workday, Aidan and Izzy got to tan (horrifically) and frolick around the pool before being called back to the house after the installation of home renovations was cut short. Followed by a TJ-Maxx trip (I think), the pool date was another very extended day together that was filled with fun and only a slight amount of motion sickness.
At the end of the summer of sunshine and rainbows, the inevitable day came - Izzy had to leave. After being invaded by Gabby, we spend a while sitting together and being sad. Then, I said goodbye to her parents and began sobbing as I left. After sobbing uncontrollably into Izzy's arms, we took a couple laps around the neighborhood before another tearful goodbye. Driving home, I listened to "Let it Happen" by Tame Impala and sulked in my sadness.
A whopping TWO WHOLE WEEKS after Izzy left B-town. Aidan took a trip up with his family to visit his stepsister and loving girlfriend. Marked by a Yale tour, NYC trip, and frustrated chipotle munching, my New Haven visit was a much-needed return to Izzy. I'll always remember hugging Izzy before we went to bed in my stepsister's apartment, and it serves as a reminder of our persistence to stay in love despite the distance.
